Welcome to Chibi’s Choice Family Pack!
Dogs are separated by size into two different rooms. There is rest time during the day and also time to play outside (weather permitting). If your dog’s schedule requires them to eat or take medication while they are with us, proper labeling is required.
Health Requirements:
All dogs who attend Chibi’s Choice Family Pack must be current on their Rabies, Dhlpp (Distemper) and Bordetella (Kennel Cough) vaccines.
Puppies can attend once their vaccine series is complete, usually by 16 weeks.
Pack members must be spayed or neutered if older than 6 months.
Temperament Assessment and Why my Dog Needs One?
Before being welcomed into the Chibi’s Choice Family Pack a temperament assessment is conducted. This assesses a dog’s potential for aggressive behavior and if they can play well without posing a danger to themselves or others, including staff.
The temperament test is free of charge and is about 30 minutes long. During this time we will look for any signs of aggression, anxiety, or stress that could indicate if Chibi’s Choice is a good match for your dog. Pup parents are asked to wait in their cars, but to remain in the lot.
All new family pack members must attend daycare within the first two weeks after their assessment, and at least twice per month following that to remain an active member of the pack. Dogs that are not active may have to repeat the evaluation process.
Not all dogs will be able to join Chibi’s Choice Family Pack. Some possible reasons that we may decline to accept a dog for enrollment include:
- aggression or fear toward other dogs
- aggression or fearful toward staff
- anxiety or fear that keep the dog from being able to relax and play safely with other dogs
- or excessive mounting, barking, or bullying other dogs
- excessive marking
- any play style that may be deemed unsafe in a large group environment.
- It is important to note that not all dogs enjoy daycare – some dogs are too shy, other dogs can become over-stimulated, or don’t play well when in large groups. For this reason, we continuously monitor pups as their temperaments may change as they grow.
